J. L. Hawkins Family Farm is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) venture, "growing community on the farm" as we offer “SHARES” of the natural farm harvest to folks in northeast Indiana. A share for 2008 includes a weekly allotment of vegetables from late May to early October, 50 weeks of eggs, 20 pastured meat chickens, a fresh Thanksgiving turkey, a half grass-fed hog, and a quarter grass-finished beef.  

ORDERING INFORMATION for 2008 may be found below.  Pleaes print both the Order form and the Instructions.  We prefer to receive orders by May 1.

J. L. Hawkins Family Farm also offers NON-SHARE SALES of the following in season: 

  • "fresh pastured turkey"  $2.95/lb  for Broad Breasted White Turkeys; $5.95/lb for Heritage Breeds.  Available November 2008.  Frozen Christmas turkeys will also be available for an additional $.10/lb   Order now! 
  • "freezer pork" approximately $2.95/lb hanging weight.   Order now for Fall 2008.
  • "steakburger" - the entire calf is ground into burger so that the meat is rich and very lean.  Frozen in bulk one-pound packages ($4.75/lb), and in one-pound packages of patties ($4.95/lb)  On-farm pick up.  
  • " freezer beef"  approx $3.50/lb hanging weight for halves and quarters.   Order now for June 2008 and November 2008 butcherings. 
  • "pastured chicken"  - Fresh chicken @ $2.70/lb.  Frozen chicken @ $2.90/lb  Sold out until June 2008.
