J.L. Hawkins Family Farm
In 1957, John Leo and Velma Hawkins purchased a ninety-nine acre farm outside of the small town of North Manchester, Indiana. Today, Jeff and Kathy Hawkins, along with their children, continue the farming tradition started by Jeff's grandparents. We invite you to enjoy the bounty of the farm with us!
J. L. Hawkins Family Farm operates on a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) basis, selling shares of the naturally-raised farm harvest. Full harvest shares feature beef, pork, chicken, a Thanksgiving turkey, and weekly vegetables during the growing season. New this year, we are offering an Autumn Salad CSA!
Our pasture-raised Poulet Rouge chicken is featured on the menu at Joseph Decuis, northeast Indiana's only AAA Four Diamond restaurant, but you can find it--along with our pasture-raised beef, pork, brown eggs, and other local fare--for sale in our farm store. The fruits of Hawkins Farm harvest can also be found at KenapocoMocha, Cerulean, Catablu Grille, and J.K. O'Donnell's Irish Pub.
Join us on summer Friday nights for Fridays on the Farm, a dining experience for the whole family featuring artisan pizzas made with all-natural, locally-sourced ingredients and baked in an outdoor, wood-fired brick oven. (Note: Our 2013 pizza season has come to an end. We begin again in late May 2014.) Join us also for Between Heaven and Earth, our annual farm-to-fork-fine-dining-in-the-gardens experience, typically held the last Saturday in September.
